Tyler Bradley Walker - The Sun The Moon The Earth And Me (2025) [Hi-Res]

Tyler Bradley Walker, one half of the experimental Rock-Electronic group Gone to Color, has released his new single + video “Moon Broke Quiet,” featuring indie experimental Rock artist Tim Rutili of Califone. The new track is the latest from his debut solo album, The Sun The Moon The Earth and Me, set for release on June 20, 2025.

On “Moon Broke Quiet,” there is a ghostly fusion of analog synths and kick drums and the video features “a wintry cityscape interwoven with the shifting phases of the moon – a hypnotic reflection on time and change.”

It was a pleasure to work with Tim Rutili and distill my lyrics through his voice. I attempted to showcase a narrative and left enough ambiguity to make it interesting. There is a sense of loss and respect for the individual that’s moved on in the narrative. We chose a simple ABA’ form with this vertigo-like instrumental gap in the middle.

Tyler Bradley Walker’s album The Sun The Moon The Earth and Me was created using a hardware MIDI sequencer, a dozen analog synths developed through DSP and layered in acoustic instruments and vocals.

Composed by Walker, the project was also co-Produced by indie Rock artist Brian Deck (Modest Mouse, Iron & Wine, Califone), who recently produced the new Counting Crows album. The Sun The Moon The Earth and Me features vocals by composer Mikel Rouse on “In Between The Shadow of Myself,” indie experimental artist Tim Rutili of Califone, on “Moon Broke Quiet,” soprano Lydia Adelle Brown, Alex Games, and a video produced by Merchandise’s frontman Carson Cox. Alex Games, the moniker of an Irish composer, sings on the track “Stowaway”.

Walker is currently an Associate Professor of Music Composition and Director of Alabama Electronic Music studios in Tuscaloosa. Over the past several years, Walker and his colleague Dr. Amir Zaheri have built the largest music composition studio in the SEC.
