Daisychain - All In A Name (2025) Hi-Res

Chicago-based psych/blues rock trio Daisychain are on the brink of their biggest moment yet as a band — but they had to come up with 100 song ideas first.

On June 27, Daisychain will release their debut album, “All in a Name.” This pivotal moment has been a long time coming for Daisychain, which formed in 2017. The band began when bassist and singer Nickole Regala caught the eye of Sophia Williams, a rhythm guitarist and singer, at an open mic night at Gallery Cabaret, 2020 N. Oakley Ave.

The result of that process is “All in a Name,” an effervescent collection of 10 tracks that pull from the band’s many influences — from garage rock to ‘70s glam — as well as its own energetic live shows. Some of the tracks are songs that took shape in front of a live audience, while others are the result of the song-crafting marathon that preceded their time with Massy.

The band is proud of the result. Williams said there’s “a different song and emotion for every day and every season.” The track “Shadowfax” opens the album in hazy vocal harmonies layered with foreboding guitar riffs that give way to a sultry, smoky blues vibe. A few tracks later, the band’s latest single, “Rivers,” brings guitars forward in the mix and delivers an intense bop you can’t help but nod your head to.
