Bunny White - The Higher the Hair, the Closer to God (2025) [Hi-Res]

“I think I’ll die before I ever fall in love” Bunny White laments on the opening line of her 11-song, 45-minute long debut album, arriving 6 years after her 2019 EP, ‘Marina.’ The self-produced concept album, which marks the first project released under the stage name Bunny White by Baltimore-native saxophonist, vocalist, and pianist Marina White, follows Bunny through the processing of the grief of losing her mother as a young child. Titled 'The Higher the Hair, the Closer to God,' the album weaves together a Lynchian, John Waters-esque world of country pop, bossa nova, ragtime, electronic, pop and disco through a blend of antique sounds and modern production techniques.
