Saphileaum - Tamalungma (2025)

Hailing from Tbilisi, Georgia, Saphileaum describes his music as "cosmic, spherical ambient" and once put out an EP called 'Wellness Resort', which is as useful a pointer as any to the sounds contained herein! Full-on ambience drawing heavily on world music instrumentation and found sounds is the name of the game - triangles and wood blocks are much in evidence, but only three of the 11 tracks contain anything that could truly be described as a beat, and even then the tempo never rises above walking pace. As such, it's an album that's best served whole - an end-to-end listening experience for when you're done with dancing, done with talking and done with the day, and it's time to lie back and let soothing sounds envelop and embrace you...
