Bright Light Bright Light - Pride Favourites (2025)

It's Pride Month in the world and to celebrate this important tribute to love and diversity, Bright Light bright light is releasing a mini album that the artist named Pride Favourites. A collection of covers of classic songs by LGBTQ artists that Bright Light Bright Light recorded over the years.

Last year, Bright Light was asked by The Recording Academy to do a cover for Pride. Then he worked with Mykal Kilgore on the song Heartslap, so it was natural that it was they who recorded the song I knew you were waiting (for me), which was originally recorded in 1987 by Aretha Franklin and George Michael.

The song itself is an airy and danceable version with soft electric piano and drums. A nice cover of a brilliant song that is hard to do justice alongside the original artists. But in the context of celebrating Pride, it works extra well.
