Meridian (ECR Music Group) concludes its three-part deluxe-edition reissue series of Patti Zlaket’s treasured catalog with Tunes [Deluxe Edition], out June 13th. Producer, recording artist, and ECR Music Group President Blake Morgan has painstakingly remastered the album, which now contains three never-before-heard bonus tracks including “Waiting For The Cue,” featuring GRAMMY Award-winning guitarist, Wayne Johnson.

On the heels of Meridian’s February release of the first album in this deluxe-edition series of reissues (The Promise and April’s re-release of Bliss), Zlaket has enjoyed a surge of newfound recognition—in the press, with a growing and reinvigorated audience, and on tour—all in advance of the release of her forthcoming new record, due early next year. As Illustrate Magazine writes, “Patti Zlaket is owning her past, embracing the now, and inviting us all into her next chapter—one spellbinding, heartfelt song at a time. Her voice is velvet and fire all at once.”

Recording artist Patti Zlaket has been performing for the better part of 35 years. A pianist since she was seven and a songwriter since she was a teenager, Zlaket signed to Meridian (ECR Music Group) specifically for this series deluxe-edition reissues, and for her new album now in production. “The coalescing of my career with these reissues is incredibly meaningful to me,” says Zlaket. “Not only do they set the stage for my new record, they bring together—in one place—the story and the music that’s brought me to this exciting moment.”

Each of these deluxe-edition re-releases by Meridian includes bonus recordings Zlaket’s eager audience has yet to hear. “I worked with a lot of great songwriters when I lived in Southern California and made Tunes,” says Zlaket. “I wanted to put together an album that showcased those collaborations, as well as a few new songs I’d written on my own. Others are bare and sparse, with just my voice and a piano. I listen to Tunes today, and I still love that it hits both ends of the spectrum.” The album’s featured bonus track, “Waiting For The Cue,” has special significance to the artist. “I wrote the song at a time in my life when I felt like I was waiting for everything—for love, for my career to take off, for direction, security—all of it,” Zlaket explains. “I guess in some ways, we’re always waiting for something. But over time I figured out that, for me, the real question I needed to answer was, ‘What are you going to do while you’re waiting?’”

After growing up in Tucson, Arizona, Zlaket graduated from USC with a BA in Theatre. She recorded her first album in Los Angeles and later moved to Nashville before returning to Southern California. Zlaket would go on to tour the United States and the U.K., establish herself as a premiere commercial jingle singer, release a storied catalog—and graduate from law school. Odyssey Magazine proclaims, “Zlaket is not looking back—she’s building forward. The fact that she’s paired up with Meridian (ECR Music Group) and releasing these deluxe reissues ahead of her new album next year makes this feel like more than just a re-release. It feels like a reintroduction, and a powerful one at that.” The UK’s Lock Magazine writes, “While fans of her work to date will no doubt look upon these new renditions with fond appreciation, Zlaket is also bringing something new and interesting to her catalogue, allowing those just discovering her work to find something passionate in which to explore.” PowHer Sound adds, “With momentum building and a new album in progress, Patti Zlaket is demonstrating that good things come to those who continue making, continue striving, and continue believing.”

With a new label behind her, a new record in production, and the remastered deluxe-edition releases of her albums The Promise, Bliss, and Tunes [Deluxe Edition] out now, Zlaket’s moment is indeed at hand. “For all I’ve done and all the miles traveled,” says Zlaket, “I feel I have a real ‘team’ for the first time now, one that understands who I am, and the journey I’ve been on from the very beginning.”

Patti Zlaket’s Tunes [Deluxe Edition] is out June 13th, on Meridian (ECR Music Group).
