"Lookin' For Trouble", the first blues album by The Dead Daisies, was recorded in March 2024 during the production of their current rock record "Light 'Em Up". After recording at Sienna Studios in Nashville, the band moved to Muscle Shoals, Alabama, to finish the songs at the legendary FAME Studios. The famous sign above the entrance reads: "Through these doors pass the best musicians, songwriters, artists and producers in the world." Since its opening, FAME has welcomed literally a who's who of the greatest musicians, including legends such as Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett and Etta James, who have recorded their classic hits there.
In the same room as these exceptional artists, the band - John Corabi, David Lowy, Doug Aldrich, Michael Devin and drummer Sarah Tomek - were almost automatically drawn into the great musical heritage of the blues. After their respective rock sessions were over for the evening, the musicians jammed out some blues classics for fun. Producer Marti Frederiksen immediately recognized the special magic of these moments and pressed the record button. And so what began as impromptu late-night sessions developed into the album "Lookin' For Trouble", a work that crackles with the raw energy and rebellious spirit that have made the blues the foundation of rock'n'roll.
