They recorded in one day. “Just like the old days of jazz recordings,” says Perazzo. “We wanted to keep things fresh. Buster adapted into the music right away.” With a few exceptions, most of the tracks were first takes.
The day before the recording, the three musicians met to choose the repertoire and refine the tunes. The selection of tracks includes compositions by all the musicians, testimony to the trio’s vitality, and the music that this album returns to us is fresh and spontaneous, direct and sincere. A modern and elegant jazz that translates into music what Williams has always said: “Music is not what comes from the head, but what comes from the heart,” the double bass player declared. “What comes from the head does not necessarily move people, but what comes from the heart certainly does”.
Tommaso Perazzo, piano
Buster Williams, bass
Marcello Cardillo, drums
