ART-SCHOOL will release their latest mini album "1985". ART-SCHOOL was formed in March 2000 and is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.
This work was started based on Kinoshita Riki's thoughts on what would happen if they made a work like "SWAN SONG" with a modern sensibility. The songs were recorded by teaming up with Iwata Junya of Triple Time Studio, who was in charge of many of ART-SCHOOL's early recordings, for the first time in a long time. In the end, it ended up being a different place from "SWAN SONG", but it is a pale, innocent, and vital work filled with the current state of their accumulated experience and the ART-SCHOOL style that has always remained unchanged. In addition, a new recording of "Outsider", which was only available on cassette tape when the band was first formed in 2000, has been made. The beginning and the present intersect, and it is an album in which the early ART-SCHOOL and the current ART-SCHOOL coexist.
Riki Kinoshita wrote in his liner notes, "I feel fulfilled, but sad for some reason. I feel sad for having lost something, but at the same time I feel healed. I realized once again while making this album that such contradictory feelings strangely coexist in ART-SCHOOL's music." I think that music that is close to any listener is what makes ART-SCHOOL unique. I hope you will reach out for this commemorative mini album that is full of ART-SCHOOL's unique style on the 25th anniversary.
