Eerily restive, darkly romantic trip hop and downbeats by versatile Milanese dance/electronica producer Piezo, accompanied by Haunter boss and fellow caretaker of the infamous Macao, Heith, among others
The ever swerving Luca Mucci aka Piezo, whose music has toured likes of Loefah’s 81, Nervous Horizon, Hundebiss and his own label, Ansia, slips into a more brooding mood music on ‘Foreground’, which appears to take cues from peer Heith’s anachronistic mutations for a succinct six-part suite squirming with psychedelic details and squashed grooves.
Pitch-bent, aqueous percussion and trippy spatialisations frame Heith’s etheric vocal apparition on the title tune, and Upperground Orchestra’s percussionist Daniele De Santis chimes in on the haunted, submerged dancehall of ‘Lotus Matrix World’, whilst Piezo shows off their proper club tekkerz on the rugged slow/fast trampler ‘Trella’.
‘Romantic’ makes room for radiant, weightless bliss-out recalling Buttechno works, and Lorem lends elusive narration to the cursed hyper-chamber musick of ‘Death is Not The’, before it all loops back into itself with the skeletal dub of ‘Foreground’ revealing its sinuous mechanics.
