Keyboardist Rob Schwimmer is an adventurous player, as are bassist Michael Formanek and drummer Gerry Hemingway. The resulting hour-plus disc offers everything from short, funk-tinged snippets to surging dialogues, collectively improvised numbers and songs featuring rippling individual sections. It's a fine showcase for Emery to display his skills outside his customary group.
