Pridian - Venetian Dark (2025) Hi-Res

Estonian modern metalcore band Pridian is set to release their debut album, "Venetian Dark," on May 16, 2025, via Century Media Records. The band describes their sound as "energetic and cinematic, bringing together fast-paced polyrhythmic grooves with massive and dark sounding electronic elements." According to Century Media's store, Pridian's style is "reminiscent of genre-leading acts like Northlane, Spiritbox, and Architects," and they prioritize "cinematic storytelling and a strong narrative concept in their lyrics, music, and visuals."

The album title "Venetian Dark" was reportedly inspired by a paint color. The record was fully written and produced by Pridian themselves. A band member, Martin, stated their songwriting approach is about "abandoning the ego," emphasizing their desire to "write songs, not instrument-based music alone." Tracks like "Out For Blood," "DINY," and "Void Resonance" are said to "blend chaotic, energetic riffs with EDM-style synths, crushing breakdowns, and atmospheric elements." The album is mixed by Matt Thomas, known for his work with Kingdom Of Giants and Invent Animate, promising a "state-of-the-art production."

Chaoszine notes that the single "Endless" provides a taste of the album's themes and moods, describing them as "dark, intense and thought-provoking." Vocalist Laur Lindmäe elaborated on the song's themes, touching on societal conformity and the suppression of true feeling. Lambgoat also reported on the release of the single "DINY" in anticipation of the album.

Pridian, formed in 2018 and previously known as Æøns, consists of Jörg-Erik Hanikat and Martin Randalu on guitar, Robert Leht on drums, and Laur Lindmäe on vocals.
