Là où les vagues sont d’or, composed by Marie-Véronique Bourque, draws inspiration from the golden wheat swaying in the wind across the Saskatchewan plains. The vast fields stretching as far as the eye can see resemble an ocean, where the waves are made of gold. The composition mirrors the movement of the wheat in a waltz with shifting rhythms. Initially introduced through a field recording, the sound of the wheat is then echoed by the flute and later by the guitar. The atmosphere of the piece is one of reassurance, calm, and well-being. Là où les vagues sont d’or was recognized as a semifinalist in the 2024 International Songwriting Competition (ISC).

This piece is part of the album "Bruissement boréal" which brings together thirteen compositions by Marie-Véronique Bourque and Christine Tassan, inspired by the sounds of nature from Saskatchewan and Quebec, the respective places of residence of the two musicians.
