Melcochita - El Sonero Llegó (2025)

Pablo Villanueva Branda (Lima, September 17, 1936), known professionally as Melcochita, is a Peruvian comedian, singer, composer, producer, writer, and musician.

He began his artistic career at Augusto Ferrando's La Peña Ferrando. He recorded salsa and rock albums, unaware that he would be considered (thanks to Los York's and the album 69) one of the first punk musicians with Peruvian sounds and orchestras. Although he is popular in Peru for his extensive radio and television career, as well as for appearing in several Radio La Kalle commercials in recent years, outside the country he is known for performing 73 salsa songs throughout his career.

He is also known locally for his participation in comedy shows. Melcochita has shared the stage with renowned comedians such as Alejandro Romero "Gordo Casaretto" and Miguel "Chato" Barraza. Regarding his family, he is the brother of singer Lita Branda, who had the first all-female orchestra, and is the grandfather of comedian and actor Luis Gianpool Aguilar.
