Leper Colony, featuring German vocalist Marc Grewe (formerly of Morgoth) and Swedish guitarist Rogga Johansson (Paganizer, Ribspreader), has released their second album, Those of the Morbid, in 2025. The band's sound is described as a blend of German and Swedish death metal styles with classic American influences, incorporating elements of thrash.
Dead Rhetoric notes that the lead guitar work from Håkan Stuvemark complements Johansson's riffs, sometimes showing an older Florida death metal penchant. The review mentions furious to doomier instrumental parts with arpeggios. Marc Grewe's vocal delivery is highlighted by The Razor's Edge as savage and in a wonderful old-school style, reminiscent of Chuck Schuldiner. Metal Hammer describes the album's start as an "all-destroying attack."
The album is characterized by a generally high tempo, although some tracks incorporate more restrained passages to build atmosphere. The Razor's Edge points out the band's ability to blend old school Swedish and American death metal with a good dose of old school thrash in the riffs.
