Thronum Vrondor's fifth full-length album, *Drowning in the Distorted Light*, released on April 25, 2025, via Immortal Frost Productions, continues the Belgian band's commitment to second-wave black metal. The album features evolved songwriting and production, with stronger guitar riffs, relentless blast beats, and a heavy bass sound. The songs are noted for their memorability, incorporating calmer moments that provide atmospheric depth before returning to intense black metal riffing. Vocals on this record are more diverse, offering a new listening experience for fans familiar with the band's previous work.

The album includes guest vocals from S. of Ars Veneficium on the track "To Burn the Absolute." It was recorded at The Attic and produced, mixed, and mastered by SvN. The artwork was created by Frostbite, with layout and design by Anthony Blomme and WrathDesign, and the logo by Christophe Szpajdel. Physical releases include a CD with a 12-page booklet, limited to 500 copies, and two vinyl editions, each limited to 150 copies, featuring a lyric insert sheet and an A2 poster.
