Michelle Goulet is a lesser-known '80s pop and dance artist who released one self-titled album on Island Records. She was originally a session singer before being signed by label head Chris Blackwell. Her debut single, "Stop & Think", was also released by Fire On Blonde the same year, causing confusion and diminishing both versions’ chart impact, despite club popularity.
She followed up with a ballad, "I'm In Love", showcasing her powerful, soulful voice and Mariah Carey-style high notes—years before Mariah's debut. Her final release was the energetic 1988 dance single "Over And Over And Over", produced by freestyle legend Ish (known for Company B and Shana). Although it was a club hit, she was dropped from the label.
Despite the industry setback, Goulet remained active in music as a session vocalist and member of Detroit's wedding band Mel Ball And Colours. The blog post includes a heartfelt thanks to a fan who shared the album, and a bonus track: the elusive "Over And Over And Over."
