Quade - The Foel Tower (2025) [Hi-Res]

BAND/ARTIST: Quade

Bristol-based band Quade presents a softer sound on their second album, "The Foel Tower," influenced by Talk Talk and Bark Psychosis, shifting away from the Krautrock and post-punk styles of their debut EP "Spiral." This new release deepens the atmospheric experimentation found on their first album, "Nacre," blending Movietone's slowcore with Bark Psychosis's post-rock elements.

Quade describe their style as "doomer ambient-dub, folk, and experimental post-rock." The album feels cohesive and meticulously crafted, with each sound carefully considered. The opening track, "Beckett," features deep bass, vulnerable vocals, and expressive violin. "See Unit" contrasts silence and noise, unveiling atmospheric harmonies. The synthesizer-led "Nannerth Ganol" maintains the album’s conceptual integrity, offering ambitious yet understated textures.

The closing track, "Canada Geese," surprises with its acoustic folk beginning, gradually building to a dramatic crescendo.
