Lunchbox’s once‑lost album Evolver has been lovingly restored and reissued for its twentieth‑plus anniversary, now available on CD, cassette—and, for the first time, vinyl. Originally recorded in their 1990s Oakland basement amid stays in Berlin, London tour dates, and Mendocino coast retreats, Evolver blends jangly pop hooks with jungle‑ and dub‑inspired loops, ambient drones, tape‑echo feedback and dubbed‑out horns, all woven together with vintage reel‑to‑reel quirks and analogue synthesizers. The result is a hypnotic, dream‑infused slice of post‑pop psychedelia. This special edition digs deep into the band’s vaults to include three previously unreleased tracks, and the vinyl release even adds a fourth side of exclusive beats, loops, interludes and sonic oddities direct from the original masters.
