Colombian-American band Nemegata, based in Austin, Texas, has released their new studio album Voces. The trio—Víctor Andrés Cruz, César Valencia, and Fabián Rincón—created the album with producers Juan "El Mono" Álvarez and Grammy-winner Beto Martínez.
Voces is a conceptual album that blends indigenous and Andean music with cumbia, psychedelia, bullerengue, and contemporary sounds. Thematically, it explores identity, forgiveness, emotional growth, rebirth, and ancestral voices as living memories. Nemegata describes the album as a tribute to cultural roots and a guide toward a decolonized future.
