Riley "Beale Street Blues Boy" King will long be remembered as one of the breakthrough artists who took the blues to new levels and new audiences from the early 60's onwards.
His prolific touring schedule-he averaged 200 shows a year with a record 342 in 1956 alone-meant that to understand BB King you needed to hear him live, in front of an audience. As such he himself claims his 1964 release "Live at the Regal" his best recording ever. With this in mind we present "Blues At Sunset" a radio broadcast live recording from 1972 which captures the essence of BB King with a set featuring his established favourites along with a couple of tracks from the two albums released that year. He is on form and treats us all to that slow virtuoso style that became the trade mark of himself and "Lucille" (his guitar) and her many reincarnations!
