Blaya, singer and songwriter, releases on April 9 her new studio album, Side B, an edition of Boogaloo Entertainment with digital distribution on all platforms and physical edition on vinyl. The work appears as a new stage in the trajectory of the artist, who has explored different sonorities since the beginning of her solo career in 2013.

Blaya became a recognized figure in Portuguese music for his participation in the collective Buraka Som Sistema, a group that had an impact on the international projection of progressive kuduro and afro-electronic sounds. Since then, the artist has sought to assert her individual artistic identity, exploring genres that cross hip-hop, Brazilian funk, reggaeton, pop and electronic music.

Composed of 11 tracks, Lado B brings together a diversity of musical influences, approaching a more introspective record, without giving up the rhythmic energy that has characterized his career. The production was mostly in charge of João Barradas, who also signs the recording and executive production. Blaya takes a central role not only in the vocals and songwriting of the tracks, but also in the co-production of the album.

The album takes a more personal approach, with songs that evoke themes of everyday life, personal relationships, identity and transformation. "Mailbox," the opening theme, is co-written with Phil and sets the tone for an album that alternates between movement and pause. In "Foste Tu “and” Meu Amor", the latter with the participation of the female choral group Alma Nova from Ferreira do Alentejo, there is space for the evocation of roots and traditional sounds.

The tracks "Quero Saber “and” Sabiá “are signed by NED FLANGER and Inês Solo, while” Moça" has production from Riot, also linked to the Buraka universe. Closing the album, "Deusa” and" Vidro De Vinho " present a fusion between organic and electronic, in a more contemplative register.

On a visual level, the project has Photography by Mike Ak and graphic design by António Santiago. The edition was coordinated by Boogaloo Entertainment.

This is Blaya's second solo project, after the album in her own name, released in 2018, an album that included the theme "Faz Gostoso", later adapted by Madonna in collaboration with Anitta.
