In the year 2121, the world is a desolate wasteland, governed by androids and artificial intelligence. Damiano, a medieval lute player, inexplicably awakens in this dystopian future, confined within a psychiatric hospital. Disoriented and without any memory of his identity or past, Damiano manages to escape the hospital, only to find himself in a world radically different from the one he knew.
As Damiano gradually regains fragments of his memory, he encounters Adriano, an elderly man who introduces him to the harsh realities of this future. Adriano, once a patient in the same hospital, reveals that the world is now divided into clans struggling for survival in extreme conditions. Adriano sees in Damiano a reflection of his past life as a bard, but Damiano insists he is from a distant time, a claim that seems absurd in this broken world.
It is revealed that a subversive organization known as the Black Sheep has brought Damiano to this future through a time portal. Their goal is to enlist his help in overthrowing the oppressive rule of AI and restoring balance to the world. Despite the compelling need for change, Damiano is reluctant, yearning to return to his own time and the life he once knew.
As he journeys through the ruins of civilization, Damiano meets Celine, a member of the Black Sheep. Together, they navigate the treacherous underworld of Technopolis, pursued by relentless androids. Along the way, Damiano is torn between the growing bonds with the Black Sheep and his overwhelming desire to return to his past.
In a climax of confrontation, Damiano must decide whether to embrace his destiny as the chosen one to lead a rebellion against AI or to find a way back to his old life, leaving the future to fend for itself. The story explores themes of identity, fate, and the burden of choice in a world where the lines between humanity and technology are dangerously blurred.
