After the sudden death of his wife Cheryl, D. Scott Riggs fell in a terrible sadness. His home was alone and silent, and he did not want to talk to anyone. One day he picked up his Resonator guitar and started playing. At that moment he realized and decided that the best way to forget his sadness was to start composing. The result are these fifteen songs that tell us about loss, loneliness, regret and acceptance. In his own words, music has saved his life and has been the way to feel alive again.

Scott Riggs is a singer, guitar player and songwriter who deeply loves and knows pre-war Delta blues, Piedmont and country blues he spices with some touches of jazz, gospel, hokum, cajun or jug music, styles that give a special flavor to his repertoire.

Besides leading the band Spearman Brewers, Scott often performs solo as a true blues troubadour. Listening to this new recording you will immediately see that his influences can be found in Delta blues great masters like Blind Boy Fuller, Tampa Red, Son House or Blind Blake among many others.

This time his voice is only backed by his guitar, which makes him show listeners his most intimate and sad side, in verses like the following one that gives title to the album “Lost, lonely, empty, alone. Lord, I long to be Somewhere Not Here.”.
