Alisa Xayalith, formerly one half of acclaimed synth-pop duo The Naked And Famous, is stepping into a new chapter as a solo artist. After over a decade of success with hits like “Young Blood” and “Punching In A Dream”, the New Zealand-born, LA-based singer-songwriter is set to release her debut solo album, a dreamy, intimate exploration of love, loss, and self-discovery.
Raised in South Auckland by refugee parents from Laos and one of seven children, Alisa found early solace in music and powerful female voices like Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston. Her personal journey—marked by the loss of her mother at a young age—inspires much of her emotional depth and lyrical vulnerability.
Now collaborating with executive producer Tyler Spry (U2, Tate McRae), Xayalith draws influence from artists such as Japanese Breakfast, Mitski, Joji, and Bon Iver, blending synth-pop roots with indie and alternative textures. A passionate advocate for Asian representation in music, she embraces her identity while crafting songs that reflect on the complexities of human connection and resilience.
Her upcoming album is a heartfelt exploration of what love means, how it manifests in others and within herself—through both joy and heartbreak.
