Ripeto is the next chapter after Intra and White Raven. With sound experiments made in 2024, Pheek compiled brief recordings in his process following classes in electroacoustics. At the end of the year, he used all the tapes and worked on tiny live experiments. Each song is the collage of these moments performed live into new songs.
The results are voluntary, ugly, and filled with musical mistakes, and they are a statement to embrace imperfection as part of the art form that electronic music is. In my last year, I learned to appreciate nuances I didn't know I loved, based on noise, unquantized rhythms, subtle imbalances and overall darker tones. Sharing it offers the listener moments of shifting into following multiple stories simultaneously, as each song provides different stories to pick from.
Over the past years, I've loved making fully arranged and clean arrangements, but I also love to explore going off trails, where things are a bit more sloppy. This influence from Free Jazz works well with experimental techno, where each voice has a mind. Once I tried to edit it, it didn't feel as natural. It reminds me of walking in a forest where each sound is independent, as a dialogue between birds that is more or less random but also follows its logic.
