Paweł Hendrich - Fractalized (2025)

The album contains four compositions created over the last eight years, belonging to the rich oeuvre of Paweł Hendrich, a composer appreciated by festivals, ensembles and music institutions all over the world. They show the consistency with which the creator develops his individual style, focusing primarily on the architecture of the form of the pieces. The titular fractals perfectly reflect the meaning of their construction, indicating the limitations of material means, however, captured in different time and space scales. This is music that is thoroughly modern in expression, in which the robotic element, requiring almost superhuman technical skills, intertwines with the omnipresent spirit of improvisation, which only a human can cope with. The composer leaves the decision about which faction will win to the performers each time. The album is a record of brilliant interpretations of soloists specializing in the performance of new music and ensembles from Poland, Austria and Switzerland. The live recordings took place during Polish contemporary music festivals, with the participation of the composer creating the electronic layer.
