AFT creates a musical landscape in perpetual transformation, where jazz merges with classical music, experimental rock and free music. The music balances between catchy melodies, playful rhythms and inexhaustible curiosity between the three musicians. As the child of an amateur jazz musician, Anders Filipsen first encountered jazz music through headphones, which were placed on his mother's stomach and through which Zoot Sims poured out. It is the traditions of this music, which forms the intuitive basis for the music that AFT creates.

A musical journey between the fragile and subtle to the explosive and unpredictable - and a sound that expresses both the introverted as well as the extroverted and energetic. This duality and unpredictability has simultaneously become Filipsen's signature and sound. As renowned music critic Brian Morton describes:

"Great musicians tend to follow one idea for long periods, examining its every implication, and there is a strong sense, reinforced here, that Filipsen has been pursuing a single sound through space and time.” Brian Morton, Jazz Journal

THE TRIO'S TELEPATHIC INTERACTION]
AFT consists of Anders Filipsen (piano), Casper Rask (double bass) and Rune Lohse (drums). After five years of intense collaboration, they have developed an almost telepathic understanding, where each concert becomes a unique journey in the meeting between the improvised and the composed. The trio constantly challenges the boundaries of the piano trio format anno 2025 and investigates how the sound, energy and interplay within the format can create new paths.

INSPIRATION AND REFERENCES
The album draws threads from jazz legends such as Duke Ellington and Thelonious Monk, avant-garde composers such as Morton Feldman and Conlon Nancarrow as well as serial music, Hermeto Pascoal and Talking Heads. Anders Filipsen's ability to mix the free-flowing with the deeply rooted has previously garnered great recognition:

"A master in…free-flowing jazz.” Jan Granlie, Salt Peanuts

"Filipsen moves effortlessly and freely between genres where modern improvisational music, avant-garde and jazz are at play.” Niels Overgaard, Jazznytt

The album will be released on ILK Music, an internationally recognized record label based in Copenhagen, known for its dedication to experimental music and unique artistic voices.
