Julian's Treatment was founded in London in the late 1960s, at the end of the psychedelic era, which passed into the early progressive rock scene. The bandleader Julian Jay Savarin, of French-Mayan descent, left Dominica in the early 60s to study law in the United Kingdom. His fascination with space and aviation led him to join the R.A.F. before diving into the exciting London underground music scene.
The cosmically spiced up debut album (double concept) of Julian's Treatment entitled "A Time Before This" was released in 1970 and is now considered a cult classic of the time. When Julian directed his talents towards a prolific science fiction writer, Julian's Treatment withdrew from the live arena. As a result, they became a studio band with new members, including the enigmatic (former Catapilla)singer Lady Jo Meek. With this new lineup, a second album was recorded, which served as an accompaniment to Julian's first book: "Waiters On The Dance", which was released in 1972. The album of the same name was released in early 1973. Since then, Julian has published an impressive number of recognized books under his name, but musically no one has heard from him anymore.
We all didn't know that a follow-up album to "Waiters On the Dance" was recorded in 1975, but for whatever reason it never saw the light of day - until 2025!
"Beyond The Outer Mirror" is undoubtedly a holy grail from the golden era of early progressive rock. Singer Lady Jo Meek delivers an incredible performance that will leave the listener stunned.
