This album is the result of the mutual admiration between Verde Prato and Donato Dozzy. The story began with the release of Tolosa artist’s first record. After meeting in London during a double concert with Voices from the Lake, Ana and Donato started exchanging songs, gradually turning them together into sketches. They later met in Rome to record those songs and thus Bizitza Eztia was born. Bizitza eztia means sweet life in Basque, a nod to the Italian La Dolce Vita.
Italy has always been one of the main inspirations in Verde Prato’s artistic work. The idea and concept for this album emerged from envisioning Rome and drawing on various Italian artistic references to craft the album’s aesthetic—from Giotto’s frescoes to Fellini’s films.
Lyrically, the songs explore different themes—some recurring, others new—such as freedom, diversity, feminism, love, solitude, and nature. Ultimately, they capture moments, images, and ideas that run through the artist’s life.
Musically, the compositions feel more complex, and the collaboration with a musician and producer like Donato Dozzy leaves an unmistakable mark—his style and depth. Yet, despite its darker moments, the album is also filled with sweetness. There are songs to dance to, to rebel with, to find calm, and to embrace joy.
