The Sex Pistols were an English punk rock band that formed in London in 1975. Although their initial career lasted just two and a half years, they are regarded as one of the most groundbreaking acts in the history of popular music. They were responsible for initiating the punk movement in the United Kingdom and inspiring many later punk and alternative rock musicians. Their fashion and hairstyles have been credited as a significant influence on punk image, and they are often associated with anarchism within music. Simon John Ritchie (10 May 1957 – 2 February 1979), known professionally as Sid Vicious, was an English musician best known as the bassist for the punk rock band Sex Pistols. He replaced Glen Matlock, who had fallen out of favour with the other members of the group.

The Sex Pistols have once again performed in the cradle of punk. After almost half a century, the Sex Pistols have returned to the stage of the 100 Club on London's Oxford Street to perform songs reminiscent of the band's glory days, turning up the nostalgia.

The band members included guitarist Steve Jones, drummer Paul Cook and bassist Glen Matlock, but John Lydon, aka Johnny Rotten, was absent, replaced by former Gallows and Rattlesnakes frontman Frank Carter. The Sex Pistols were celebrated at the venue by celebrities such as Noel Gallagher, Bobby Gillespie and Jam frontman Paul Weller.

The 100 Club is the place where late bassist Sid Vicious is said to have whipped NME journalist Nick Kent with a bicycle chain. It was also here that Vicious was arrested for throwing a broken glass at a young woman, blinding her in one eye.

The band performed songs such as Holidays In The Sun, Pretty Vacant and Bodies, among others. They also played God Save The Queen, the controversial anthem written for the Silver Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II in 1977.

The Sex Pistols closed the concert with Anarchy In The UK, which prompted the crowd to storm the stage. Carter tried to prevent this by throwing himself off the stage into the crowd. Afterwards, he remarked: "Oh, fuck, I forgot you're all 60 years old."
