Gustaffson - Black & White Movie (2025)

Black & White Movie is the remarkably assured debut album from Gustaffson, produced by Elbow’s Craig Potter. The record features sweeping string arrangements from award-winning composer Bear McCreary (Outlander) and a cameo from legendary actor Sir Ben Kingsley.

The 13 tracks on the album serve as individual cinematic experiences. Lead singer and songwriter Andrew Gower’s poignant lyrics, honed over 15 years as an actor, shine light and darkness on the duality of human existence, telling extraordinary tales of ordinary lives.

“My teenage life was changed forever when I discovered the Beatles ‘White Album’. It was the first record that allowed me as a listener to discover nuanced writing and music at its best,” explains Gower. “In the studio we all focused on the importance and responsibility we have to tell the stories without spoon-feeding the audience.”

Seamlessly blending the classic sounds of both music and film worlds, the album invites listeners on a journey where every track is a movie in its own right.
