Symbiosis is a contemporary circus diptych created by Kolja Huneck and Luuk Brantjes.
Symbiosis dives deep into the tension and balance between humans and their natural surroundings.
Working with materials that originate from oil, Kolja shapes a world where vinyl records are not limited to playing music, but become part of intricate juggling patterns, where the fragility of vinyls and the roughness of asphalt meet in absurd and humorous ways.
Whereas Kolja manipulates the materials, Luuk finds himself in a position where the material manipulates him. Through acrobatics, he is discovering the dialogue between body and material, challenging gravity, playing with risk, finding codependence. With a specially developed apparatus, Luuk dives head-first into all corners of the customised dome tent, constantly falling in and out of balance.
