Mohammad Mostafa Heydarian's second album, *Noor-e Vojood*, will be released digitally and as a limited 500-copy vinyl pressing by Centripetal Force (North America), Cardinal Fuzz (UK), and Radio Khiyaban (Europe). Preorders begin on January 24, with the official release on March 7.
Born in 2002 in Kermanshah, Iran, Mostafa grew up surrounded by the rich musical traditions of the tanbur, a sacred Kurdish instrument. His father, Morteza, was both a percussionist and a tanbur craftsman, and Mostafa was immersed in music from an early age. Moving to Karaj, he studied under master musicians and developed a deep passion for the tanbur.
In 2020, Mostafa collaborated with French musician Valentin Portron, leading to his debut album, *Songs of Horaman*, released in 2021 via Radio Khiyaban, Centripetal Force, and Cardinal Fuzz. The album gained international recognition, earning praise from BBC, Mojo, and WFMU.
Work on *Noor-e Vojood* began in 2021 at Bell Studio in Tehran, where Mostafa sought to refine his compositions. In 2023, he completed the album with drummer Morteza Rezâei, recording in just two days. The album reflects his love for life and belief in music as a source of healing and connection.
Currently studying Persian classical music at Tehran University, Mostafa continues to explore and evolve his craft, carrying forward the traditions of Iranian and Kurdish music.
