Erika Ikuta - bitter candy EP (2025) Hi-Res

Erika Ikuta has announced the release of her second EP, her first in about a year! The new songs include songs provided by sumika, and songs by meiyo, who wrote and composed Hamaiku's "Beat de Touhi," which was also sung at the Red and White Song Battle. In addition, the album will feature a cover of Tomosaka Rie's "Cappuccino," making for a total of eight diverse songs.

The title "bitter candy" is a combination of the two opposing words "bitter" and "candy." "As we go through each day, we not only experience fun and joy, but also painful things and sometimes have to face difficult realities. The title was chosen from Erika Ikuta's wish that we could look at and taste those bitterness in a pop way, even if just a little."
