"Pucker Up Buttercup" is a 1999 blues album by American musician Paul Jones, released under Fat Possum Records. Following his debut album, "Mule," Jones returned to welding and construction work but was encouraged to resume music by fellow blues artist T-Model Ford. The album, co-produced by Fat Possum's Matthew Johnson, features Jones on guitar and vocals, accompanied by his drummer, Pickle. Known for his preference for inexpensive amplifiers and heavy distortion, Jones delivers a raw and authentic blues sound. The track "Lead Me On" is a rendition of a traditional spiritual. Critically, the album received positive feedback for its unpolished and genuine juke-joint blues style.
