Aldona Budrewicz-Jacobson is of Polish origin. She graduated from the Music Conservatory of Gdansk and obtained her degree from the Academy of Music in the same city, in Professor J. Sulikowski’s piano class. At the Music Conservatory in Geneva, she furthered her piano studies under the direction of Professor Louis Hiltbrand.
In the early 70s, for three consecutive summers, she participated in the International Music Interpretation Festivals under the direction of Maestro Carlo Zecchi. Subsequently, she was the assistant to Professor Conrad Klemm at the Festival of Nations in Citta di Castello. She won the prize at the III International Competition for Young Pianists in Senigallia.
In 1977, accompanied by the Baltic Philharmonic Orchestra of Gdansk, she undertook a concert tour in Italy. She has performed concerts in Poland, Austria, France, Italy, and Switzerland.
On this record, Aldona Budrewicz-Jacobson presents her piano recital, being convinced that:
“One is free to understand and interpret Chopin. However, if one has spent one’s childhood, youth, and developed one’s culture in Poland as he did, and then spent years away from this country like him, one is closer to the profound meaning of his music.”
