Anton Bruckner was undoubtedly Sergiu Celibidache's favourite composer and with the Munich Philharmonic, the great maestro had created the perfect orchestra for his musical ideas. The MPHIL label is therefore celebrating Anton Bruckner's 200th birthday on 4 September 2024 with two very special releases: With Symphonies Nos. 7 & 8 from 1984 and 1985, historical and previously unreleased recordings from the Herkulessaal of the Residenz, two real rarities have been unearthed from the orchestra's extensive archive and remastered in a complex process.
