Boxcar Radio - Born on Blood (2025)

Boxcar Radio is a rising force in Atlanta's soaring Americana scene. Built in the Jason Isbell/Son Volt/Wilco mold, Boxcar Radio is kind of a stealth super group of sorts. Seasoned professionals in the local Atlanta music scene with band members that have been in countless projects, this lineup spun off a Gram Parsons tribute act with a lot of the first original songs written for that project. With three solid EP's including the recently released "Devils Cut" (produced by local legend Jon Daly), Boxcar Radio offers great songs, great players and soaring harmonies.

Boxcar Radio formed in 2014 and has played multiple local venues including Eddie’s Attic, Avondale Towne Cinema, Smith's Olde Bar, Redlight Cafe, and multiple Porch Fest events. They have shared the stage with Shawn Mullins, Chris Young, Tonic, Lisa Loeb, Sara Watkins of Nickel Creek, John Driskell Hopkins of the Zac Brown Band, The Bitterroots, Jackson County Line, Truckstop Confidential, Slim Chance & the Convicts, Mike Killeen, Chris Stalcup & the Grange, David Robert King, The Atlanta Rhythm Section, Blues Traveler, Donna the Buffalo, Rick Derringer, Night Ranger, Wet Willie, Truth & Salvage, and many others.

Lead singer/songwriter Rodney Bond writes songs that combine the traditional stylings of Gram Parsons with a modern homage to bands like Wilco and Son Volt. Rod's songs mix stories of forlorn unrequited love with classic depictions of American life. Bassist Jeff Hall lays down solid lines that serve the song and provides the harmonies that make up Boxcar Radio's signature sound. Guitarist Mark Evers provides the coloring with understated riffs that straddle the line between rock and country.. Drummer Don Olsen keeps the train on the tracks with a variety of styles that complete the band's ever evolving sound.
