Everything has a predecessor, the future leads backward. We loved city pop that summer. City pop is in the midst of a global boom, and where will the music we see ahead take us? While foresight assures us of a glorious future, we must not forget to explore further into the past. While the talents of city pop sublimated influences from a variety of music into their own compositions, vividly reflecting the urban landscape of the mind, we must not forget that in the corners and main halls of the albums, there were also songs inspired by the oldies and beautiful songs inspired by the oldies, just like the oldies. The selection of songs for this album was based on the relationship of one important person in the overall picture, and Disc-1 features Niagara Triangle Vol. 1 members: Ginji Ito and Tatsuro Yamashita. The theme song for the national noon variety show "Laugh It Up! the theme song for the national noon variety show "Laugh It Up!", the theme song for the Fuji Television program "Ore-tachi Hyokinzoku", "Saturday's Lover", and the ending song for the children's show "Ponkickies", "Parade", M-5, 7, 8, are all influenced by Niagara Triangle.Next, from Niagara Triangle Vol. 2, we selected our ally Motoharu Sano, who has risen to prominence with the help of Ginji Ito on the sound side, and Mari Sugi, who has established a solid position as a composer with "Whiskey, Don't You Love It? And Mari Sugi, who has established a solid reputation as a composer with her song "Whiskey, Don't You Love Whiskey? Through the music to which they have paid homage, we will explore the essence of their innate talent as melody makers. Disc-2, which begins with the well-known M-01 theme from "GO! Starting with "Koi wo Koi de A-men" (Fall in Love on the A-side), "A LONG VACATION" and "NAIAGARA TRIANGLE Vol. 2," the album tracks are analyzed for their roots and the music they were based on. The program reveals how he has sublimated the music he loves. In addition, Ginji Ito, who played in the backing band of Miki Matsubara, famous for the city pop anthem "Midnight's Door," was a key figure in bringing Tatsuro Yamashita, whom he first heard as an amateur at a rock cafe in Koenji, to his mentor Eiichi Otaki. The latter half of the film, entitled "SUGAR TOWN," also mentions Sugar Babe, the band they played with.In addition, we will also touch on Minako Yoshida, Mariya Takeuchi, and Yumi Matsutoya, and examine the rise of female singers in the global city-pop craze from multiple perspectives through the music of the good old days that became their flesh and blood. This disc is a journey back in search of their roots, with homage to their great predecessors in mind. We would be more than happy if a new interpretation of city pop and a new understanding of the artists would emerge when we look at the music from the perspective of all-day music. We also hope that it will be an opportunity to open the door to "unknown music" for young listeners who are in the midst of the recent city pop boom.
