This is a reissue of a mod instrumental masterpiece from Swinging London that combines the magic of the keyboard and the wonder of the song selection. Nicky Hopkins, one of rock's greatest by-players, has released a mod-inspired instrumental lounge masterpiece with a great sense of humor. The Beatles' M2, 007 series' M3, Presley's M8, Stones' M10, Marianne Faithfull's M11, and other well arranged cover songs are appealing, and the quotations from classics in the original songs M1 and M9 are as good as Keith Emerson's. The chorus by Mike Sam's Singers is also a masterpiece, with a graceful, light, and sophisticated tone that thrillingly and gorgeously speaks to the ear.
