Ballarat singer-songwriter David Grimson has unveiled his debut full-length studio album, An Impression of Myself, bringing more of his signature clear vocals and effortlessly relatable lyrics, offering even more of the heartfelt music he’s known for.
The newest 15-track collection was written between 2010 and 2020, and includes previously released singles I Don’t Want To Be Afraid Of The Darkness Anymore, I Guess That’s Just What Happens, and Reminiscent.
“The album tells a story of anxiety, trying to figure out where I fit in the world, and of a journey to find comfort in being different.” – Grimson
Originally planned for release in November 2024, the album was postponed due to health, but in late 2024 his stepfather was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
Now, with the album set for release in February, Grimson’s hope is his stepfather will be able to hear and enjoy it, like everyone else.
A portion of the proceeds from Bandcamp sales for the first month will be donated to The Australian Pancreatic Cancer Foundation.
