In 2012, Guy Buttery performed three of his compositions with the KwaZulu-Natal Philharmonic Orchestra, arranged for a 52-piece ensemble. This experience marked the beginning of his 12-year exploration of orchestral music, culminating in the album *Orchestrations*.
Buttery is a renowned multi-instrumentalist from South Africa, honored with numerous awards, including the Standard Bank Young Artist Award. His curiosity and passion for experimentation have made his music globally recognized. *Orchestrations* is a reflection of his years of research—an album that was repeatedly started, set aside, revised, and almost left unfinished, but ultimately became his "magnum opus."
