This album features ultra-rare and previously unreleased material from 1968–1976, sourced from Peter Thomas' personal reel-to-reel tape archive.
Spanning big band brass funk, space jazz, krautrock synth experiments, proto-hip-hop, cosmic schlager, heavy lounge, soulful soundtracks, and dreamy LSD ballads, the compilation showcases some of the composer’s most obscure yet transcendent work.
Widely recognized as Germany’s most innovative film composer of the 1960s–70s, Peter Thomas scored over 600 films and series, from crime blockbusters (*Jerry Cotton*, *Edgar Wallace*) to arthouse films (*Playgirl*, *The Big Boss* with Bruce Lee) and sci-fi cult classics (*Space Patrol*, *Chariots of the Gods*).
His library music recordings pushed creative boundaries, attracting vinyl collectors, beatmakers, and rare groove DJs. Originally intended *for professional use only*, these albums have become highly sought-after collector's items.
This album presents the finest selection of Thomas' library compositions from *Golden Ring Records*, *KPM*, and *DeWolfe*, many of which are now available to the public for the first time. The music was carefully transferred from his private master tapes and remastered for optimal sound quality.
The compilation was created in collaboration with Peter Thomas' son, Philip, who has managed his father's musical legacy since his passing in 2020.
