Theis release presents the complete original soundtrack to the movie Funny Face, a 1957 American musical film directed by Stanley Donen, which contained a number of songs by George and Ira Gershwin.
Although it was given the same title as the 1927 Broadway musica "Funny Face" by the Gershwin brothers, and featured the same male star (Fred Astaire), the plot was completely different and only four of the songs from the stage musical were kept. The screenplay was written by Leonard Gershe and starred Astaire with Audrey Hepburn and Kay Thompson.
As a bonus, 8 additional Fred Astaire interpretations of Gershwin songs, which he recorded in 1952 in the company of an all-star rhythm section led by pianist Oscar Peterson, and the original 1928 version of the title song "Funny Face" sung by Fred Astaire and her sister Adele.
