La Baula, the new emerging group in the Catalan folk music scene, presents their highly anticipated debut album *Cançons a l’ombra*. This fresh and captivating project revives thirteen lesser-known traditional songs, gathered from various sound and bibliographic sources. These pieces, long forgotten, are now reimagined with new arrangements by the group, aiming to reach a wider audience and highlight Catalonia's musical heritage.
Produced by Arnau Burdó, the album features songs from historic songbooks such as *Les cançons de Mataró*, *Cansons y Follíes populars (inèdites) recollides al peu de Montserrat*, *Cançoner de l’Empordà*, as well as material from the *Fons Joan Tomàs i Parera* and personal recordings by Pau Benítez of the singer Magda Capdevila i Marzo.
