Musician and filmmaker Terence Nance has announced *V O R T E X +*, a deluxe edition of his acclaimed 2022 album *V O R T E X*, featuring new live versions of eight tracks, including the lead single "Infinince or Infinity (Live)." The project was recorded live in March 2023 at Union Transfer, Philadelphia, with an 11-piece band directed by Anthony Tidd. Originally conceived as a live performance extension of Nance’s solo art exhibition *SWARM*, it was produced by BLACKSTAR Projects.
Terence Nance is renowned for blending the poetic, political, and cosmic across various creative mediums. Known for his Peabody-winning HBO series *Random Acts of Flyness*, Nance recently directed the visual companion to André 3000’s *New Blue Sun*. His musical career began with the self-released EP *Things I Never Had* in 2020, followed by the masterful *V O R T E X* under Flying Lotus' Brainfeeder label in 2022. The album, co-created with collaborators like Solomon Dorsey and Nick Hakim, received critical acclaim from Pitchfork, NPR, and Bandcamp for its cinematic soul jazz sound and lyrical depth. With *V O R T E X +*, Nance continues to expand his genre-defying creative universe.
