STUNNING LATE 1990 s BRIAN WILSON BROADCAST RECORDING In 1998, Brian Wilson teamed up with Chicago-based producer Joe Thomas for the album Imagination, his third solo-studio album and second to feature wholly new material. Shortly after its release however, Wilson filed a suit against Thomas, seeking damages and a declaration freeing Brian to work on his next record without the producer s involvement. Following Imagination s release, Brian undertook extensive vocal coaching to improve his voice, learned to cope with his stage fright, and started to consistently play live for the first time in decades. This resulted in Wilson successfully performing the entire Pet Sounds album throughout the US, UK and Europe. In the late autumn of 1999, Brian Wilson played a quite extraordinary set at Neil and Pegi Young s annual Bridge School Benefit Concert, at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California. Featuring pretty much a greatest hits selection, the audience went understandably wild and the performance was one of the weekend s highlights. Featuring a finale of Good Vibrations for which an all-star cast of Neil Young, Eddie Vedder, Roger Daltrey and Emmylou Harris joined Brian for the show s final hurrah, this previously unreleased FM Broadcast is now available here on CD for the first time.
