Dina Summer - Girls Gang (2025)

Berlin-based synthwave band Dina Summer will release their long-awaited second album, Girls Gang, on January 24, 2025, through Iptamenos Discos. Dina Summer, whose decadent sound has been described by Resident Advisor as a "fusion of dark disco and EBM," is a collaborative project between electro-punk band Frittenbude member Kalipo and dark disco DJ and producer duo Local Suicide.

Their past works include the 2021 EP "Who Am I" and the 2024 EP "Hide & Seek," as well as the 2022 album "Rimini," which was a nostalgic dive into retro disco vibes, both of which were highly acclaimed. They have also participated in Curses' "Next Wave Acid Punx" compilation, Purple Mag x radiooooo's "2070" project, and appeared at Reeperbahn Festival's prestigious "Collide Session."

With millions of streams and global radio airplay, Dina Summer's music has appeared on numerous Spotify and Apple Music editorial playlists and been supported by DJs such as Charlotte De Witte, The Hacker, Âme, Dixon, Joris Voorn, DJ Hell, Joyce Muniz and Dubfire. Their releases have been featured in major publications such as Resident Advisor, DJ Mag, Mixmag, Groove, Spiegel Online, Musikexpress, Tsugi, ELLE, Penthouse and FAZE.

A diverse album of 11 tracks, the album explores themes of empowerment ("No More Tears" & "Girls Gang"), outsidership ("Alien" & "Zombie"), impermanence ("Promise featuring Curses and Joshua Murphy"), nostalgia ("Halkidiki") and relationships ("Nothing To Hide" & "Hypnotized"). While their debut album was characterised by a club-focused sound influenced by Italo-disco and '90s electro, this new album explores a richer palette, including new wave, post-punk and synth-pop.
