Illuminate is the latest and most refined album from Chop (formerly Mr. Chop, aka Coz Littler), showcasing his signature blend of synth funk, Krautrock, and spacey soundtrack grooves with electronic experimentation. Unlike his previous releases, which were rich but dense, Illuminate is a more finely-tuned and cohesive work. The album features lush Moog synths, modular atmospherics, and vocoder effects, balanced with live instrumentation, including bass, guitar, and powerful drumming by longtime collaborator Malcolm Catto. The result is a top-tier cosmic funk rock experience. The album includes standout tracks like "Building Blocks," "Illuminate All Voltages," and "The Electronic Brain," among others.
